There is a super hot trend going around for crafters who use Cricut or Silhouette cutting machines called a reverse canvas. In this video post, I show you how I make an EASY reverse canvas in less than 30 minutes. A reverse canvas makes a great gift or conversation piece in your own home, that you can easily make with your Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine. These reverse canvases can be made with heat transfer vinyl or adhesive vinyl, though each has a little different process. I prefer to make them with HTV (Heat transfer vinyl), because I can make more detailed and intricate designs without worrying so much about the adhesive sticking to itself when weeding.
I posted this birth announcement reverse canvas I had made in a Facebook group for crafters (check it out if you’re not a member yet!) and it got a HUGE response. Way bigger than I imagined, and lots of people had so many questions that I decided to make a video explaining my very quick process.
(Note: I don’t pre-treat or paint my canvas, nor do I seal them afterward, that’s another common question that gets asked that I don’t address in the video.)
In addition to the birth stats, DesignBundles.net is my absolute favorite source for craft cutting files. I’m an affiliate with them, which means they offer a small commission when you purchase a file through the links I share.
